Imagine a field of Mazda 3s or MX-5s. Or better yet, put some dirt on the course and field CX-3s. Yes, that would be good.

The thing that irks me the most is Toyota’s contract runs out on sponsoring the Grand Prix of Long Beach next year. If they’re not going to renew, why not run this race one last year and not renew the contract?

I feel like a series of anything would be worth it.
Miatas first and foremost, but I would have fun watching them try to pilot Honda CR-Zs around that track.
How much fun would it be if Hyundai stepped in and threw the Velosters to the pros and the Genesis coupes to the amateurs?

Throw it to Chevrolet, have the celebrities run either Turbo 4 or V6 Camaros, have the pros drive Super Sports with the 1LE package, and then evolve it into a potential IROC revival with a twist, but have it be manufacturer backed this time.

Good opportunity for VW for some PR.
